In this Blog I want to figure Basic Ideas and Ideology of this service. Also this Blog will cover many related topics around Estimation, Planning, Tracking of different Projects. We'll discuss Development Life Cycles, communications and tricks for survival in problematic projects.
And also I will share here interesting ideas and approaches in domains of Software Development, Business Analitics, SEO etc.
I've spent about 6 years in IT Management and now I have my vision of process and tools needed for successful completion of a Project. There are 5 practices mandatory for success:
- continuous interactions with customer
- planning
- real QA
- verification of any piece of finished work
- objective task progress tracking.
Ganttzilla is young service. So we decided to start from something very basic but very important. We selected "planning" practice as starting point and developed online viewer for popular Project Plan formats: MS Project's MPP, MPX and XML and Planner's XML. Next step is editor for those formats. Finaly (in 2 months) we'll have online Editor/Viewer for Project Plan creation, sharing, versioning and collaborating. This is a Basic Idea of the service.
